About S 3 X Y Auto Service

We're an independent Tesla shop in Mission Viejo. The name is the lineup we work on: Model S, 3, X and Y.

Who we are

We opened to give Tesla owners in South Orange County a local choice besides the service center. We were the first independent Tesla shop in South Orange County.

We work out of 24002 Via Fabricante, Ste 508, in Mission Viejo.

Our focus is the work owners pay for out of warranty: upkeep, wear parts, inspections and the repairs that pop up as the miles add up. We diagnose with Tesla Toolbox, Tesla's own service software, on a full subscription.

How we work

You describe the problem. We check the car and tell you what we found and what it costs. Nothing gets fixed until you approve it. If a problem looks like something Tesla covers under warranty or recall, we say so and send you there.

Questions owners ask us

Will using an independent shop void my Tesla warranty?

No. In the US, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act stops a carmaker from refusing warranty coverage just because someone other than the dealer did your maintenance. Tesla can still refuse to pay for damage caused by poor work, so the quality of the work matters. Repairs that are still covered by Tesla's warranty are free at Tesla. When a problem looks like a warranty item, we tell you and point you there.

Which Teslas do you work on?

Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y. If you have a Roadster or a Cybertruck, call before you book so we can tell you what we can do.

Do you use genuine Tesla parts?

Your estimate lists every part and its price before we install anything. Ask about any part on it and we will tell you where it comes from.

Can you inspect a used Tesla before I buy it?

Yes. A pre-purchase inspection covers the car system by system: alerts and fault history, a road test, charging, brakes, suspension, tires, fluids and the underside of the battery. You get a digital report you can take to the seller.

What maintenance does a Tesla actually need?

There are no oil changes. The usual list: a cabin filter every year, brake cleaning every year, brake fluid every 3 years, the HEPA filter every 3 years on cars that have one, coolant every 5 years, and the A/C desiccant bag and condenser cleaning around 30,000 miles. Your owner's manual has the exact schedule for your car.

How do I book an appointment?

Use the Schedule Service page or call (949) 741-7399. We reply during business hours to confirm a time. If you only want a price, say so in the form.

Can you tell me what a warning or alert on my screen means?

Yes. We read the alert and the fault history, then test the parts involved before we quote a repair. If you want a head start, try our online diagnostic first.

Do you do recall work?

No. Recall repairs are done by Tesla at no charge. You can check for open recalls in the Tesla app or on the NHTSA recall lookup at nhtsa.gov/recalls using your VIN.

How is this different from a Tesla Service Center?

We're a small local team. You talk to the people working on your car, and you approve each repair before it starts. Tesla is still the place for warranty and recall work.
